Today, we learnt that AccorHotels, one of the world’s leading global hotel operators, today ahas acquired onefinestay, a high-end hospitality pioneer in luxury private home rental in key cities worldwide. An astounding dowry of €148M (£117M) was offered and a further commitment of €64m (£50m) was made to help the company scale internationally.
With its global presence and strong expertise in both operations and digital services, AccorHotels will support a new development phase of onefinestay, growing the brand across new key urban markets – adding its experience and support as a world-leading hotelier. It’s a match made in heaven, considering onefinestay’s ambition is to grow in 40 new global cities in the next five years.
For Accor, it seems that onefinestay has successfully captured that illusive ‘sweet spot’: a combination of needs that neither traditional hotels nor new actors of the sharing economy can meet.
onefinestay will remain an independent brand within the AccorHotels Group and the founding team will continue to run and operate the business.
