Fancy checking the Antarctic off your list without risking frostbite? Antarctica Flights have teamed with Qantas to offer a more comfortable, luxurious solution.
We didn’t need passports on this international flight, departing and landing in Australia, despite a 10-hour flying time. This airborne day-trip leaves Sydney, Perth and Melbourne between November and January in a specially chartered Qantas Boeing 747-400 and offers passengers the chance to glide over the mountainous topography of the great white ice-desert, champagne in hand, from the comfort of their seat. Before the plane headed back to the warm Australian summer, the cartoon ‘Happy Feet’ was screened on the in-flight entertainment system.
