From the moment we pulled up at this neo-Classical building on the edge of Tiergarten park, we could tell we had arrived somewhere remarkable. We were assured that our second floor room had a “very special view” – and they delivered; floor to ceiling windows looked out over Berlin Zoo, with antelope and zebra grazing, almost up to our window. Staff were attentive to our every need, from the delicious snack of cured meats on arrival and helpful tips on the local area, to the porter who ran after us with complimentary umbrellas because it had been forecast to rain. The atmosphere was friendly, yet discrete and our room was luxuriously appointed. While the wifi reception was a little more patchy than we would have expected from a hotel of this calibre, Apple desktops were provided in each room, another example of the thought that has been put into every detail at Das Stue.
