Those of you who know me that I am partial to life’s little luxuries. I’m also usually a hard-nosed traveller and hotel reviewer, but the Gran Meliá Don Pepe, Marbella’s emblematic hotel has just gone and done something that got me weak at the knees, combining two of my great loves, luxury travel and champagne.
The hotel has just launched the world’s first suite partnership with none other than Moët & Chandon, with the French champagne brand exclusively designing penthouse accommodation for the hotel’s VIP guests (including little ol’ moi).
The suite, located on the penthouse floor offers stunning views of the Mediterranean and on a clear day, as far as Africa. The suite’s terrace is carefully designed with gold detailing, signature to Moët & Chandon a nod to the partnership without it being overbearing. I was in seventh heaven when I kicked back on my Bali bed with a glass of fizz, whilst my bubbly Jacuzzi was drawn – and I thought, “would it be taking it too far if I ask them to fill the tub with Moët ?”
The only Moët & Chandon suite in the world, it is also part of Gran Meliá’s prestigious RedLevel Service, where guests can benefit from VIP concierge services including private check in and butler service, with access to the exclusive RedLevel lounge – question is, why would you ever leave?
