The #Experientialist has noted from many OutThere travellers that some summer honeymoons have to be put on hold, postponed or cancelled at this challenging time. Firstly, we’re sorry to hear that, but with every cloud having a silver lining and that, it means that perhaps you could #KeepYourMindTravelling and consider Tel Aviv as an option. After all, it’s beautiful at any time of year.
We hear you, the hedonistic Israeli city has a reputation as somewhere you might not want to bring the other half, but beyond its fun-filled beach vibe, there are plenty of options for romance too. You can choose a local neighbourhood away from the party scene – from the ‘Mykonos of the Middle East’ Neve Tzedek, to the gorgeous ancient port of Jaffa. Plus the city is also a gateway to many other gorgeous hidden gems – Jerusalem, the Dead Sea and Akko, just to name a few.
We covered a lot of it off in our Non-Stop Tel Aviv Issue, if you’re looking for added inspiration – but since then, there have been many new developments worth noting especially when it comes to its luxe hotels. The Six Senses Shaharut opening later in 2020, offers an idyllic bolthole in the middle of the Negev Desert is one to watch. But others will like the Brown Villa Hotel, part of the gay-owned Brown boutique hotels family, a luxury bolthole located in the old city. There are many more exceptional properties, you’ll be spoilt for choice, we’re certain. Check some of them out here.
