It seems word has got round that if it’s a surefire article if I am to hear a story about a travel brand linking up with a champagne one. But if all the world says yes, then who am I to say no?
It’s become somewhat of an institution, the Veuve Clicquot and The Little Nell pairing. Every ski season, the iconic yellow label bubbly teams up with this ski-in-ski-out Relais and Chateux property. This weekend marks the re-launch of the Aspen Oasis, the world’s first on-mountain Champagne Bar. This unique mobile Champagne Bar roams around the slopes, pulled by a snowcat, before settling into the unique Ajax Tavern on the property’s sun-soaked patio. Sounds like the perfect apres-ski, with the bubbly stuff rivalled only by a serving of California caviar and chips. However, it seems that the game has been upped this year by The Little Nell’s Executive Chef Matt Zubrod, with Bento Boxes filled with poki, seaweed salad and cucumber being this season’s must-have – perhaps a tad strange for the slopes, but then since when as Aspen been conventional?
