Ink 48, NYC

Ink48, NYC, USA

Midtown westside is road less traveled for the average visitor to New York City. A strange place to find a Kimpton boutique. However, this part of the city is on the up, in just a few years, midtown 10th and 11th avenues have seen new life injected – boutique hotels, art galleries, antique ]shops and apartment developments.

The Ink48 is leading this trend. This place is a magazine editor’s dream, set in an old printing house and retaining the character of its industrial and editorial past, in the names of its bar, restaurant and conference facilities. It’s well designed, with an informal and relaxed atmosphere. But with that, the staff are a little aloof at times. There are some great little perks – wine happy hour, coffee mornings, stunning views from our Hudson Suite, and seriously spacious rooms for the city – and of course, we must not forget the rooftop bar with jawdropping panoramic views into Manhattan (the buildings nearby are mainly low rise), the envy of other NYC hotels; all of which makes up for the two block walk of nothingness in the immediate neighborhood. But two blocks isn’t a big price to pay for the familiar comforts of Hell’s Kitchen just beyond.
