Dambale is a lodge resort located on the edge of a sprawling teak estate. It is set up high in the hills with uninterrupted views across the treetops, overlooking the ancient Kingdom of Dambulla – a breathtaking hideaway that helped us feel as if we had really got away from it all and escaped the grind of urban living. Our chalet was made entirely of glass, a bit of a greenhouse at times, but on the plus side affording truly spectacular views from our four-poster bed.

| Pick up a book and imbibe in nature. There’s not much to do here apart from visiting the ancient sites. So when you’re done exploring them, just sit back and enjoy the serenity that the hotel has to offer. |
