Its design is a fusion of old world and new, so you feel like you’re experiencing the splendour of Buenos Aires hospitality in its hey day (complete with cocktail hour, jazz singer and cigar selection just before the sun sets), but with all modern and arty conveniences. The hotel has just a handful of beautiful rooms and every single one smug with its deep attention to detail. Then when we think it can’t get any better, we find out the property doubles up as the city HQ of the infamous Algodon Wine Estates in Mendoza – yes you guessed it, delicious Malbec galore. It’s no wonder Relais and Chateau were keen to make this their only first and only listed property in Buenos Aires.
