So if you’re planning to go big in Vegas, where do you stay? The glistening, gold, fun-centric MGM Resort that’s Mandalay Bay, obviously.
Nowhere does big like America, and in America, nowhere does big like Las Vegas. It’s a place where you walk towards some buildings just a stone’s throw away, but even after fifteen minutes, they seem no closer. But big in size also means big in personality, as well as luxury, good times, gaming and fun! And all this certainly applies to Mandalay Bay, especially the “fun” part. We often call Las Vegas a big, adult theme park. If that’s true, then Mandalay Bay is a theme park within a theme park.
Spacious and minimalist rooms (apart from the giant, colourful quartzite bedhead of course, the centrepiece of an otherwise neutral-toned suite) with floor-to-ceiling windows offer spectacular views of the strip and Nevada’s strange lunar landscape. If you’re in the mood to splurge like a rockstar, then check out the four-bedroom Presidential Penthouse.
If, while cruising the vast, airy casino, like some snazzily-dressed apex predator, you find yourself getting hungry, your dining options are plentiful (read, overwhelming). From the best steak in Vegas at Chef Michael Mina’s StripSteak, to all-American fine dining at Foundation Room, not forgetting the most epic breakfast buffet on the strip, it’s almost as if they don’t want you to leave…
Oh, and there’s a beach – with real sand, 27,000 tones of the stuff. You can glide in the lazy river, do a bit of shirtless gambling at the beachside casino, or head to the party-hearty DAYLIGHT Beach Club.
Go big or go home.
Right on time
While you’re Out There
If you need a break from all the fun, then wellness is just the tonic. The Spa Mandalay offers rest and relaxation therapies on-site – but in the same complex (remember to “think big” and leave plenty of time to get to your appointment) – you’ll also find the Bathhouse Spa at the neighbouring Delano and the sublime Four Seasons Spa at the hotel of the same name.
