Budapest, Hungary

In the shadow of St Stephen’s Basilica, the Aria Hotel Budapest is a whimsical concept hotel that was once a Neoclassical bank building. Now totally reimagined as a contemporary, music-themed art hotel, it’s split into four wings, each home to a different musical genre, providing an aural experience for us unsuspecting guests.

You won’t miss the theme, we kid you not. Walking through the hotel’s Music Garden Courtyard, with its electric grand piano centrepiece, a ribbon of black-and-white keys on the ground keeps you on track. Even the property’s Harmony spa is fully on brand, so there’s just no way of escaping the theme.

Our Jazz-wing suite at the Aria Hotel Budapest came with all the conveniences you’d expect from a modern luxury hotel, along with lashings of Nat King Cole layered on top of Art Nouveau-style furnishings and embellishments from the original building.

We recommend you pick your vibe when you book – guests can choose from contemporary, classical, opera or jazz. Don’t leave it to chance, as we couldn’t imagine relaxing to the sounds of Wagner.

While you’re Out There
Make sure you pack your sense of humour. While luxurious, the Aria Hotel Budapest is a rather whimsical hotel and there are elements to it you just have to laugh off. Up on the roof, there is a real gem: the High Note (of course) SkyBar offers views over the city and an opportunity to rub shoulders with Hungarian glitterati, who seem to adore the cosmopolitan vibe every bit as much as the music.
