Saint Paul has just a handful of accommodation options, so we stayed in its twin city, Minneapolis. Located in the historic Downtown and one of its most enduring landmarks, our Winter Festival oasis was the Ivy, a reimagined classic with European finesse and contemporary highlights for the modern traveller. Our 19th-floor penthouse suite was an ultra-luxe, 1,900 sq ft duplex with panoramic windows that revealed just how beautiful the city was in the snow. We toasted the moment with a bottle of Dom Perignon, which comes as standard with the suite, and were tempted to book the brand’s in-suite tasting experience. At the time of visiting, the hotel management was very excited about the launch of the Ivy Spa Club this summer. With 14 treatment rooms, refined relaxation areas and couples’ suites, this award-assured space will pamper even the most discerning OutThere guests – and provide an excuse not to go out into the arctic weather.
