The Effendi Hotel
Akko, Israel

Uri Jeremiah, the acclaimed sea-to-table chef of Uri Buri fame, has meticulously and lovingly restored two 19th-century town houses and turned them into a wonderful boutique hotel. The property keeps the spirit of old Akko alive, but brings an air of refined design and contemporary elegance to the place.

We loved everything about the hotel, clearly developed with its guests in mind, with plenty of common spaces to lounge, read, sit, play chess and soak in the atmosphere of stunning, historical Akko.

The hotel’s rooftop deck is just one of these spaces, but a highlight of our stay here. We spent many hours lounging on comfy sofas, with a glass of wine in hand, hearing the call to prayer and staring out at the old city and the beautiful blue sea beyond.
